“Home Get-together” presents a journey through the shapes, colors, stories, and flavors of Piemonte, an important industrial region in northern Italy. Join us to experience the best of North Italian home design.
On September 2024, Torino Chamber of Commerce together with Politecnico di Torino and China Room presented an exhibition titled “Home Get-together”, a community event and interactive exhibition within Singapore Design Week 2024.
“Home Get-together” ties the designers and furnishing manufacturers back to the household environment most people call home. Piemonte Region includes a lot of small and medium-sized businesses manufacturing stand-alone goods or components for homes.
Though they can build on industrial capability, creatively deal with local materials and constraints, and create iconic symbols, without the infrastructure of design to assemble and celebrate them, such goods and producers are not acknowledged. “Home Get-together” honors such production histories and design techniques reevaluating the practices in which home environments gather all those objects individually “made with care”.
Visitors can eventually discover more about the designers and companies producing such components in the fourth and last part.
